I went to Shanghai for EXPO ’2010 from May 17th to 21th.

On May 17th, I left Amy’s class one hour earlier and went to Changsha Huanghua International Airport. The airplane I boarded on was MU5360, which costs me CNY 430.00 for an economy class seat. To my surprise, it was not delayed but landed in Shanghai Hongqiao Airport(Terminal 2) on schedule. Before I turned off my mobile phone, I replied ZY, who asked me whether I need a pick-up, that I was not sure whether she could go back to school by public transportation and the flight NO. is MU5360… After that, I realized that was not appropriate for the notification of flight NO. And she picked up me at the airport 30 minutes after I landed in Shanghai.

I chose 4B for my seat, just behind the first class, as the space was a litter larger. And the seat 4C and 4D, which were on the aisle, were taken by the fake travelers. Actually, they were attendants, as they wore the uniform except the insignia.

For the first I time, I took the Shanghai Metro. The line 2 was newly connected with Terminal 2 of SHA. We took the last train, there was even not enough time for me to buy a ticket for the entry. Fortunately, people in Shanghai are so friendly that they allowed us to get in without paying and persuaded us to run faster in order to catch the last train. Of course, I bought the ticket when I left the destination stop. For there was no longer another train on this line, I told ZY that was not necessary for walking me to the hostel. Thanks to the Google Maps and GPS on my E71, the route I chose was quite accurate.

I arranged my accommodation at Youth Hostel Association – Blue Mountain, Hongqiao. I lived in the 6 Bed Dorms. It took me CNY 60.00 per night. The environment was excellent. This was the first time I lived at a hostel of YHA.

That’s the end for the first day of my trip to Shanghai.:)
